Cirilab Knowledge Generation Engine™

Billions of pages of unstructured text exist on the web, in corporate file systems, and content management databases around the world. And millions of pages are being added daily in many different types including WordPerfect, Word, HTML, PDF and many others. While existing search engines can help us find thousands of “hits” in less than one second, the question of how relevant that information is and how we review it remains a huge challenge. This is the Information Overload Tiger.

After years of research in Knowledge Management and Information Triage, Cirilab has released the Cirilab Knowledge Generation Engine™ (KGE) which is at the heart of a series of products designed to “read” unstructured text and provide insights into that text that was never before possible. Whether you are an individual consumer or a member of a large enterprise, Cirilab’s “Right Click To Knowledge Series” ™ of products is right for you.

For The Sweet Ones

Watercolour Quilt – “Labour of Love” by Wanda Bowles

(This item will be raffled on June 30th.)

My very close friend Daphne Hughson and I each started working on these quilts when she was first diagnosed with breast cancer 6 years ago. Daphne finished her quilt “Song (or Music) for Angels” shortly before she died on December 18, 2006 at the age of 57. Her daughter Faye will cherish this very special memento and hopefully someday pass it on to Daphne’s future granddaughter.

Grandma Mona Bowles was always around to help us with the quilting and the conversation. Her tender touch and loving hands are all over these pieces. She too passed away a couple of weeks earlier on December 10, 2007 at the age of 97.

We sewed the colour squares by machine and quilted the rest by hand. This is a one of kind piece and if you look closely in the light blues you will find the patterns of some of our provincial flowers.

It is in memory of these two wonderful women who have touched my life so profoundly that I donate my quilt to help alleviate some of the suffering of Africa’s unsung heroes, the grandmothers. May you enjoy this piece as much as I treasure the memories of my time spent with Daphne and Grandma Mona.

Bowls created by Bill Neddow:

Bill has been working with wood all his life, but only began wood turning six years ago when he retired. Creating bowls, platters, vases and other items has become a passion. Japanese art has provided the inspiration for beauty through simplicity and imposed a sense of discipline. He has studied Grecian and Roman work and been influenced by African art and culture.

One of his bowls will be featured in a new book entitled "500 Wood Bowls" being published in the fall of 2004. His bowl was chosen after a world wide call for entries.

Before retiring Bill was a publisher with the Government of Canada and the World Bank.
